Damaso Serpa, 90, Stamford Resident
STAMFORD, Conn. – Damaso R. Serpa, of Stamford, died Tuesday, Feb. 2 at Stamford Hospital. He was 90.
He was born Dec. 11, 1925, in Cuba to the late Vicente and Antonia Rivas Serpa.
Serpa, known as “Nito” was employed at Machletts for more than 25 years in the shipping department until his retirement. He was an avid New York Yankees fan and loved fishing and playing dominos.

George M. DiScala, 65, Norwalk Resident
NORWALK, Conn. – George M. DiScala, of Norwalk, husband of Janet Cocchia DiScala, died Monday, Feb. 1. He was 65.
Born Nov. 13, 1950, in Norwalk, he was the son of Mary DeMassa DiScala and the late George F. DiScala.
He was a lifelong Norwalk resident. A 1968 graduate of Central Catholic High School, he earned a bachelor’s degree from Sacred Heart University. He was a longtime builder and real estate developer. An avid outdoor sportsman, he was a member of the South Norwalk Boat Club, East Norwalk Boat and Yachting Club, Stamford Fish and Game Club and a life member of the N.R.A.

Timothy J. Murphy, 55, Retired Norwalk Police Lieutenant
NORWALK, Conn. – Retired Police Lt. Timothy J. Murphy, a 33-year veteran of the Norwalk Police Department, died Friday, Jan. 29, at his home in Florida after a battle with cancer. He was 55.
He was born in Bronxville, N.Y., on Sept. 13, 1960, the son of John and Alice Dolan Murphy.

He was born Aug.1, 1969, to Donald and Albina (Raneri) MacFadden in White Plains.
He was owner-operator of BCI Computer Co. in White Plains.

Anthony Kolenda, 88, Stamford Resident
STAMFORD, Conn. – Anthony W. Kolenda, a lifelong resident of Stamford, died at Stamford Hospital on Monday, Feb. 1. He was 88 years old.
He was born Oct. 12, 1927, and was one of four children born to the late Anton and Genevieve (Kuzma) Kolenda.
He attended Stamford schools and began working part time at the railroad while he was in high school. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served from 1945-48. DANBURY, Conn. – Mary E. Dana of Danbury died Wednesday, Jan. 27 at The Regional Hospice and Home Care Center in Danbury. She was 98.
Before retiring, she worked for Raytheon, formerly known as Machlett Laboratories, in Stamford for 36 years in the Small Power Tube Division as the production scheduler. She was born in Bristol, R.I., and moved with her family to Waterbury, Conn., when she was 8 years old before moving to Stamford, where she lived until her retirement in 1987.
