Damaso Serpa, 90, Stamford Resident STAMFORD, Conn. – Damaso R. Serpa, of Stamford, died Tuesday, Feb. 2 at Stamford Hospital. He was 90. He was born Dec. 11, 1925, in Cuba to the late Vicente and Antonia Rivas Serpa.  Serpa, known as “Nito” was employed at Machletts for more than 25 years in the shipping department until his retirement. Born Nov. 13, 1950, in Norwalk, he was the son of Mary DeMassa DiScala and the late George F. DiScala.  He was a lifelong Norwalk resident. Murphy, a 33-year veteran of the Norwalk Police Department, died Friday, Jan. 29, at his home in Florida after a battle with cancer. He was 55. Anthony Kolenda, 88, Stamford Resident STAMFORD, Conn. – Anthony W. Kolenda, a lifelong resident of Stamford, died at Stamford Hospital on Monday, Feb. 1. He was 88 years old. He was born Oct. 12, 1927, and was one of four children born to the late Anton and Genevieve (Kuzma) Kolenda. He attended Stamford schools and began working part time at the railroad while he was in high school. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served from 1945-48.
