Eugene P. Barden, 86, Little Ferry Resident
LITTLE FERRY, N.J. – Eugene P. Barden, of Little Ferry, died Saturday, March 26, of cancer. He was 86.
He was born Jan. 24, 1930, in Jersey City, the youngest son of Dr. Edward and Lucille Barden.
Charged with making money to help support his family, he worked as a shoeshine boy, a paper delivery boy and a dock worker. At the same time, he pursued his passions such as horseback riding while working as a stable boy, becoming a champion swimmer in high school, and becoming a golden glove boxer.

Edythe M. Locke, 88, Teaneck Resident
TEANECK, N.J. – Edythe M. (Sneath) Locke, of Teaneck, died Friday, March 25. She was 88.
She was an avid quilter, knitter and rug hooker. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Teaneck. She graduated from Teaneck High School and attended Beaver College.
Locke was the wife of the late Ronald H. Locke, mother of Ralph Locke and his wife, Susan and James Locke and his wife, Idajean Fisher; grandmother of Amanda, Joy, Michael, Kevin and JaimeLynn; and great-grandmother of five.
