GARFIELD, N.J. – Gabriel Daniel Valos, of Garfield, died Sunday, March 20. He was 68.
Born in Passaic, he was a lifelong resident of Garfield. He was a police officer with the Garfield Police Department for many years before retiring, and he was a parishioner of Mt. Virgin Church.
He was the father of Valerie Rodriguez and her husband, Eduardo; grandfather of Eduardo Valentino Rodriguez; and brother of Daniel and Joseph Wallace.
He was predeceased by his sister, Valeria Pisarcik; and his parents, Joseph and Valeria Valos.

She was born in Tubrid, County Kilkenny, Ireland, to Ellen (Kealy) and John Kennedy and immigrated to the U.S. in 1962, settling in the Bronx, prior to relocating to Dumont.

LODI, N.J. – Leonard Jagt, a life resident of Lodi, died Sunday March 27. He was 92.
He was a life member of the Faith Reformed Church in Lodi and a member of the Lodi VFW.

MAHOPAC, N.Y. – Ann Talia, a resident of Mahopac and former longtime resident of Port Chester, died Sunday, March 27. She was 90.
She was born Feb. 22, 1926, in New Britain, Conn., to Thomas and Anna Pavano Bascetta.
She was married on Jan. 30, 1948, to Carmen Talia.

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Jean B. “Gammie” Chapman, wife of Frederick G. Chapman, died Friday, March 25. She was 89.
She was born Aug. 16, 1926, in Boston, the daughter of the late Leonard and Sarah Levy, and had been a Fairfield resident since 1968.
She was an active member of the Covenant Church of Easton. She traveled to Ecuador to assist in building a church, she volunteered her time to help feed and clothe the homeless in New York City and Bridgeport and, on Sundays, you could find her in the church kitchen organizing fellowship hour.
