The alleged purse thief reportedly pried open the window of a 2014 Nissan parked at the Suffolk County Nature Preserve at 613 Old Riverhead Road on Wednesday, June 26 at around 12:40 p.m. and stole a purse, Suffolk County Police said. Garage Fire Breaks Out In Farmingdale Firefighters in Farmingdale quickly knocked down an overnight fire. The blaze began around 12:20 a.m. Friday, July 5 and fully engulfed a detached garage on Jefferson Street off of Lincoln Avenue, according to the East Farmingdale Volunteer Fire Company. The fire was contained to the garage, said the fire department.
