Since its founding in New York City in 1853, Steinway has been considered the world’s premier piano manufacturer. Known for its exceptional craftsmanship, Steinway pianos are built in one of two factories in Astoria, N.Y., and Hamburg, Germany. She was born in Fairfield, the daughter of Dolores Pisacane Pagliaro, of Fairfield and the late Nicholas Pagliaro. She was a longtime Norwalk resident and worked as a customer service representative in the medical and travel industries. Darien Rowers Dominate Mercer Sprint Regatta DARIEN, Conn. – Darien rowers from the Maritime Rowing Club scooped up an array of medals at the Mercer Sprint Regatta on Saturday and Sunday in Princeton, N.J. Fairfield U Athletic Director Gene Doris Inducted Into Ecac Hall Of Fame DANBURY, Conn. – The former Stepinac High School head basketball coach and current Fairfield University Athletic Director Gene Doris and Fordham Athletic Director Emeritus Frank McLaughlin, who served 27 years as AD, were among the inductees into the ECAC Hall of Fame at a gala on Friday in Danbury‎. Doris coached 11 seasons at Stepinac in White Plains, including the 1985 championship team. Both Doris and McLaughlin served as assistant coaches to Digger Phelps on the memorable 1971 Fordham team ranked ninth nationally.
