Ronald Allen Hollister Sr., 72, Poughkeepsie Resident
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Ronald Allen Hollister Sr., a lifelong area resident, died Friday, Jan. 15 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie following a long illness. He was 72.
Born June 24, 1943, in Pawling, he was the son of the late Homer Edward Hollister and Loretta Hughes Hollister. He was a mechanic at Covanta Energy Corporation in Poughkeepsie for over 25 years until his retirement. His hobbies included bowling, golfing and fishing.

LODI, N.J. – Kenneth A. Vanyo, of Lodi, died Saturday, Jan. 16. He was 83.
Before retiring, he was a lead warehouse worker for Givaudan Corp in Clifton. He was a Korean War Marine veteran, a member of the Lodi VFW, Rochelle Park American Legion, former member of the Lodi Senior Citizens and AARP.

HEWITT, N.J. – Hewitt resident Edward V. Basil died Thursday, Jan. 14. He was 50.
He worked as an independent contractor for Pillar to Paint in Hewitt. He also was a member of the Carpenters Union local #253, Hackensack, and was the assistant coach of the West Milford Midget Football Association for three years.

ROCHELLE PARK, N.J. – Rose Hoffmann, of Rochelle Park, died Friday, Jan. 15. She was 96.
She was born as Rose Barchi Dec. 5, 1919, in Phillipsburg. Her parents, Marcella (Belangero) Barchi and Teodoro Barchi, were immigrants from Asti and Pralboino, Italy. She attended public schools in North Bergen and graduated from Emerson High School in Union City in 1936. She was awarded a scholarship to Montclair State College but was forced to decline it because of the economic conditions of the Great Depression.

BERGENFIELD, N.J. – Bergenfield resident Maria Gloria Ferrer died Wednesday, Jan. 13. She was 101.She was born Nov. 5, 1914.
All will gather at 9:15 a.m. Saturday for a funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 29 N. Washington Ave., Bergenfield. Interment will take place at St. John's Cemetery, Middle Village Queens, N.Y.

LODI, N.J. – Maria S. Victorio, of Lodi, died Wednesday, Jan. 13. She was 73.
She was the wife of Rodolfo Victorio, mother of Janet, Janee, Jill, Jeffrey, Avon and Jules; sister of five sisters and two brothers; and grandmother of 16 grandchildren.

HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. – Johanna (Gansereit) Vrablik, of Hasbrouck Heights, died Tuesday, Jan. 12. She was 95.
Born in 1920, she was raised in Wallington. She married William J., Vrablik in 1943 and they remained together for 62 years.
She was a member of Most Holy Name of Jesus Slovak Catholic Cathedral in Passaic, where she was a former trustee and a member of its choir.
