Liston L. Hall Jr., 58, Stamford Resident
STAMFORD, Conn. – Liston L. Hall, a Stamford native, died Saturday, Jan. 9 at Bridgeport Hospital. He was 58.
He was born Sept. 2, 1957, in Stamford, the son of the late Liston L. Hall, Sr. and Eunice Bell Hall.
He is survived by three nieces Denise Purefoy (James), Brenda Thomas and Tracey Bates (Sam); two nephews Robert Thomas, Jr. and Darrell Thomas; a favorite cousin, Theresa Bender; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by a niece, Barbara Thomas.

NORWALK, Conn. – Norwalk resident Albert J. Renna, died Monday, Jan. 18. He was 89.
He was born July 22, 1926, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Albert and Amelia (Marinaro) Renna. He was a Navy veteran, and later worked as a plant supervisor for Peabody Engineering. He was also a member of The New Horizons and a proud member of the Knights of Columbus.

Antonio Nurzia, 85, Eastchester Resident
EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – Antonio Nurzia, a longtime resident of Eastchester, died Sunday, Jan. 17. He was 85.
He was born in Arischia, Abruzzo, Italy, to Pietro and Emma (Taranta) Nurzia. He immigrated to the U.S. at the age of 21. He worked for Heritage Plumbing and was a member of the Plumbers Union Local 86.
He is survived by his wife, Antonina Nurzia; his daughter, Rita Williams (Kenneth) and his son, Peter Nurzia (Mary); siblings Gina DeSimone, Amalia Ciano, Ada Zaccagno, Amico Nurzia, Angelo Nurzia and Pierina Commisso; and three grandchildren, Christian A., Bethany and Lauren Nurzia.

Edith Mary Coughlin, 74, Yonkers Resident
YONKERS, N.Y. – Edith Mary Coughlin (Tyrrell) a lifelong Yonkers resident, died Saturday, Jan.16, of cancer. She was 74.
She was born Jan. 11, 1942, to John and Edith (Smith) Tyrrell in Yonkers, where she attended St. Joseph Grammar School and Sacred Heart High School.
She worked as the medical records coder-coordinator at St. John's Hospital for over 20 years, and retired in 2005.
On March 14, 1964, she married Brian Coughlin of Yonkers at Monastery Church of the Sacred Heart. She was a parishioner of Christ the King Church.

YONKERS, N.Y. – Salvatore Tascione, Yonkers resident, died Monday, Jan. 18. He was 88.
He served in the U.S. Navy and worked as an inspector for General Motors in Tarrytown.
He was an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan and had a passion for singing and dancing, especially to his all-time favorite, Frank Sinatra. His favorite past time of all was spending time with his family.

FISHKILL, N.Y. – Nicholas “Champ” Joseph Greco Sr., of Fishkill, died Saturday, Jan. 16, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He was 80.
He was a son of Natalie and Joseph Greco.
He was in the Air Force from 1952-56, serving during the Korean War. He retired from Metro-North Railroad and spent his time watching his grandchildren, reading the paper and drinking coffee. He loved his dogs Hoppy and Fred.

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Mary T. (Slavic) O’Rourke, recently of Burlington, Mass., and former longtime resident of Poughkeepsie, died Sunday, Jan. 17, at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center. She was 91.
She was born on Aug. 16, 1924, in Poughkeepsie to Frank and Anna (Rituper) Slavic. She was born and raised in Poughkeepsie and was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School. She spent her career working as a representative for New York telephone companies.

CLINTON CORNERS, N.Y. – John J. Buchal, of Clinton Corners, died Monday, Jan. 18. He was 86.
He was born on March 6, 1929, to Bernard J. and M. Agnes (Burdick) Buchal.
Growing up in New York's Tug Hill region during the Great Depression made self-sufficiency a necessity. He considered himself a "Jack of all trades but a master of none." Throughout his life, he shared his repertoire of skills with his two sons.
He put himself through college and graduated from SUNY Albany in 1957. He taught high school math at Kingston City Schools for 28 years, and retired in 1987.

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Richard H. Sutton, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died Sunday, Jan. 17. He was 83.
He was born July 19, 1932, in New Rochelle, to Anthony T. and Catherine (Scaffidi) Sutton.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He worked for many years as a corporate vice president at the Bank of New York until his retirement.
