Edward Lesko, 95, Bridgeport Resident
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Edward Lesko, of Bridgeport, died Saturday, Jan. 16, at St. Vincent's Medical Center after a brief illness. He was 95.
Born in New York State, he moved to the Black Rock section of Bridgeport in 1927, living right next door to the Black Rock Congregational Church. He was active there for 83 years, serving as a youth leader, teacher and church treasurer. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater with a combat engineering unit.

Venus Okwuka Scores 1,000th Career Point For Danbury's Wooster School
DANBURY, Conn. – Heading into Wednesday afternoon’s game against The Gunnery School, Wooster School’s Venus Okwuka of Brookfield was only eight points away from scoring her 1,000th point. Okwuka, a junior forward, joined the highly exclusive 1,000-point club at Wooster School on a layup from the right hand side with two minutes left in the first half.
“I’m so thankful for everyone who has taken time to work with me and support me throughout my life,” said Okwuka. “So much of what I accomplished is due to our team, my coaches, especially Mr. MacNutt, and my parents.”

Santino DiCamillo, 85, Stamford Resident
STAMFORD, Conn. – Stamford resident Santino DiCamillo died Tuesday, Jan. 19.
He was born Jan. 9, 1931, in Alanno, Province of Pescara, Abruzzo, Italy to Giacomino and Gemma DiTomasso DiCamillo.
He moved to Stamford from Italy in 1966 with his family. He worked at Pitney Bowes for 26 years.. He was an avid gardener and a fun loving, hardworking man who enjoyed time with his family.

John Meropoulos, 86, Monroe Resident
MONROE, Conn. – John Meropoulos, of Monroe, died Tuesday, Jan. 19 at Bridgeport Hospital. He was 86.
He was born in Bridgeport on Oct. 17, 1929, to George and Helen Meropoulos.
He attended Bassick High school and the University of Bridgeport and worked at his family's restaurant, "The Famous," on Fairfield Avenue.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was employed by Perkin Elmer in Norwalk for more than 30 years, where he worked as an optical polisher and a contributor toward the Hubbell Space Telescope Program that launched in 1990.

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Dexter M. Holder, of Bridgeport, died Saturday, Jan. 9. He was 47.
He was born on Oct. 26, 1968, in Stamford, to John and Betty Holder.
He graduated from Jonathan Law High School and later completed two years of hotel management at the University of New Haven. After graduating, he worked in the food industry as a chef as well as in the medical field as a certified medical assistant.
In his spare time, he enjoyed singing, watching Star Wars movies, reading and traveling.

Margaret Clark, 86, Fairfield Resident
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Margaret Perry Clark (Peg), of Fairfield, died Sunday, Jan. 17, at Bridgeport Hospital. She was 86.
She was born in Bridgeport to Burr Perry, Sr. and Margaret Perry, and had been a lifelong Fairfield resident.
A graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School, her career in elementary education spanned many years. She taught at Grasmere Elementary School in Fairfield. She then began a 14-year career with the Region 15 School system in Middlebury from 1976 through 1990, serving as elementary principal of both Shepardson and Johnson Schools.

SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. – Owen Kane Kelly, Sleepy Hollow resident, died Monday, Jan. 18. He was 16.
He was born in Atlanta on Oct. 13, 1999, and was raised in Atlanta and Sleepy Hollow.
A sophomore at Fordham Preparatory School in the Bronx, he was an honor student and member of the junior varsity hockey team. He was a community volunteer and worked during the summer at the Tarry Crest Swimming and Tennis Club and the Philipse Manor Beach Club. BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Ellen R. Upchurch, a Bridgeport resident, died Sunday, Jan. 17. She was 78.
She was born March 21, 1937, in Wake County, N.C., to Roxie and Andrew Debnam.
She is survived by two sons, Harold and Walter Upchurch; two daughters, Connie Upchurch and Lisa Gardner; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
