Paramus Builds Six Townhomes For Disabled Veterans PARAMUS, N.J. – Applications are now being accepted from VA service-connected disabled veterans in search of affordable housing for residency in six new townhomes and their families in Paramus. Teen Advisory Board Meeting At East Rutherford Library EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The East Rutherford Memorial Library is hosting its first Teen Advisory Board meeting of the new year at 4:30 p.m. Monday. Participants will have the opportunity to suggest programs to have at the library, talk about issues, make friends and have fun. Refreshments will be available. All teens ages 13 and older are welcome.  This is a drop-in event, but teens are encouraged to contact Children’s Librarian Maria Russo at 201-939-3930 or maria.russo@eastrutherford.bccls.org with any questions. Last Call To View Adams Family Memorabilia In Newtown NEWTOWN, Conn. – The display of the rare memorabilia belonging to John Adams and John Quincy Adams will continue through Sunday on the on the second floor of the C.H. Booth Library The collection recently was donated to the Newtown Historical Society, and the public exhibition was made possible in part by a grant from the Connecticut Humanities Council, an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Arts. The collection consists of 52 items, of which about a dozen are on display. While records of early patriots and leaders abound, it is rare to get a glimpse into their personal lives. The …

Born Aug. 25, 1924, in Worcester, Mass., to James Sr. and Delia French of Killarney, Ireland, he had an incredibly full life, serving his country in combat, his church and his community and adopted home of 60 years, Stamford. In World War II, he served as a 1st Lt. Bombardier and Navigator in the 15th Air Force, flying dozens of missions over Italy, Germany, Austria and Poland in a B-17.
