GARFIELD, N.J. – Barbara Olejnik Kwiatkowski Greco, of Garfield, died Tuesday, Feb. 2. She was 69.
Born in Szczawno Zdroj, Poland, she came to the United States and settled in Garfield. Prior to her retirement, she was a seamstress for local manufacturing companies in Passaic. She also was a housekeeper and caregiver.
She was the mother of Matthew Kwiatkowski of Water Mill, N.Y.

STAMFORD, Conn. – When Christine Collins, of Stamford, scratched off the prize area on her “Win Up to $7,500 a Month for Life 2nd Edition” instant game ticket last Saturday, she couldn’t believe her luck – and had to ask her mother to put on her glasses to make sure she had, in fact, won the grand prize.
“First I saw a ‘W’ and then the words ‘Win For Life,’” Collins told state lottery officials. “I started screaming, ‘Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God,’ and then asked my mother to put on her glasses and check to see if I was seeing things right.”

Douglas G. Noiles, 91, New Canaan Resident, Engineer
NEW CANAAN, Conn. – Douglas G. Noiles, of New Canaan, died Monday, Jan. 25. He was 91.
An accomplished engineer and entrepreneur, he had dozens of patents in the orthopaedics arena – most notably what became the DePuy artificial knee. He also loved aviation.
Born in Nova Scotia, he and his family immigrated to the United States when he was just 1. Always grateful for the opportunities in America, he became a proud U.S. Marine and served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He met his wife, Edna, a nurse at the Bethesda Naval Hospital when he was sent home with an injury.

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Shirley C. Weintraub, daughter of the late Morris and Jennie Bufferd, and wife to David for more than 70 years, died Wednesday, Feb. 3. She was 90.
Born Nov. 9, 1925, in Bridgeport, she graduated from Bridgeport's Bassick High School. She and her husband, David, were teenage sweethearts and married in December 1945 after he returned from serving in the U.S. Army.

Iris May Barton, 89, Wilton Resident
WILTON, Conn. – Iris May Barton, of Wilton, died Wednesday, Feb. 3 at Wilton Meadows. She was 89.
She was born in Gibraltar in 1926, the daughter Alfred and Conchita Stokes-Vecchio. After she and her family came to the United States, she married Harold R. Barton of Norwalk.
She was honored by the Turnover Shop for her many years of service and, before that, worked for Norwalk Savings Society, now a part of Bank of America.
She was predeceased by her sister, Maria Jarreau Heller; and her only son, Thomas Alfred Barton.

NORWALK, Conn. – Lucy Regina Dyke, wife of the late Dr. Joseph Dyke of the Bronx, New York, died Monday, Feb. 1. She was 93.
Born Nov. 10, 1922, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Mooney.
