Saddle Brook Little League Sponsors CPR Class SADDLE BROOK, N.J. – Saddle Brook Little League is having a CPR/AED certification class from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 9 at Victor Fieldhouse. The class will certify attendees for two years. Certification is a requirement for anyone who will be on the baseball field. The cost is $50. Hackensack Library Celebrates 'Read Across America' Day HACKENSACK, N.J. – The Hackensack Library will celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday with “Read Across America” day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday. Themed activities will take place in the children’s room. Pre-school story hour, including Dr. Seuss books and crafts, will begin at 10 a.m. “Read Across America” day is for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. No registration is required. Jacqueline M. Verdon 73, Highland Resident HIGHLAND, N.Y. – Jacqueline M. Verdon, a lifelong resident of Highland, died Monday, Feb. 22 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 73. She worked for IBM in Poughkeepsie for many years up until her retirement.  She was born Dec. 23, 1942, in Kingston, the daughter of Gordon Baker and Linda Ellison Baker.  On Oct. 5, 1974, she married Robert G. Verdon in Rosendale. He predeceased her in 2005. Survivors include her son, Jeffrey A.
