Born in Molfetta, Bari, Italy, to the late Mauro and Stephanina Visaggio, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Before retiring, he was a machinist for Uniroyal in Passaic. She was born in Hoboken to Salvatore Prisco and Nicoletta ( Marinelli), one of seven children.  She was employed by United Jersey Bank in Rutherford on the platform for many years and retired in 1983 at the age of 72. She also volunteered as a lunch aid for all the public schools, taking care of students for 11 years. A lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie, was born July 29, 1929, in Poughkeepsie, to John A. and Ellen R. An institution of Fairfield, the family restaurant, located at the corner of Black Rock Turnpike and Tunxis Hill Cutoff, spanned five decades.
