James A. Steele, 74, Norwalk Resident
NORWALK, Conn. – James A. Steele, of Norwalk, husband of Isobel Steele, died Saturday, Feb. 20. He was 74.
He was born in Nova Scotia, Canada, to Roland and Amelia Steele and served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He was the owner of Steele’s Automotive in Westport until his retirement in 2001.
He is survived by his wife, Isobel; daughter Skye (Terry) Bird of Rochester, N.Y.; stepsons Keith (Randee) Bok and Kevin Bok; grandchildren Lexi and Ian Bird and Isabella Bok; and two brothers, Nelson and Gordon Steele, of Nova Scotia.

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Sister Eileen Bent (Sister Mary Lidwina), a member of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, died Saturday, Feb. 27 at Lourdes Health Care Center in Wilton. She was 85.
She was born Dec. 31, 1930, in Boston, Mass., the daughter of John and Catherine McGowan Bent.
After professing her vows as a School Sister of Notre Dame in 1951 and taking the name Sister Mary Lidwina, she began teaching at St. Leo School in Baltimore, Md. Sue Giuliano, 92, Former Rye Brook Resident
RYE, N.Y. – Sue Giuliano, a former longtime resident of Rye Brook, died Saturday, Feb. 27. She was 92.
She was a retired vice president of the Bank of New York after 25 years of service. Her most important role to her was that of wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by three granddaughters, Michelle (Joe), Dana and Dina (Joel); grandson, Steve; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Emil, and two children, Edie and Steve.

Francis 'Finn' Finnerty, 86, Croton-On-Hudson Resident
CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Francis "Finn" Finnerty of Croton-on-Hudson, died Friday, Feb. 26. He was 86.
He was born July 12, 1929, in Croton-on-Hudson.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Lisa Finnerty; and grandchildren, Megan, Sean and Matthew Finnerty.
His wife, Joyce Finnerty, died in 2010.
His daughter, Susan Finnerty, died in 1978; and he was also predeceased by his brother Allan Finnerty and sisters, Eileen Ryan and Rita Wilhelm.

Michael Janos, 65, Tarrytown Resident
TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – Michael Janos, a longtime Tarrytown resident, died Sunday, Feb. 28. He was 65.
Born in Yonkers on July 14, 1950, he was the son of Michael and Clare Pleva Janos.
He was a graduate of Irvington High School and earned his bachelor's degree from SUNY Oswego. He was employed by the Village of Tarrytown Recreation Department and served as the driver for the senior citizens bus. Prior to that, he had been the proprietor of Mory's Army Navy Store on Main Street in Tarrytown.

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – John Thomas Ponzo, of Fairfield, the husband of the late Lillian Cubelli Ponzo, died Sunday, Feb. 28. He was 98.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Gasper and Anna Ponzo, he served as chief pharmacist's mate in the U.S. Navy during WWII, attached to the submarine fleet in the Pacific Theatre. He subsequently attended New York University and Manhattan College. He moved to Fairfield in 1947, and began his business, Federal Fabrics, in Bridgeport, which he operated for many years. GREENWICH, Conn. – Donato Labriola, of Greenwich, died Saturday, Feb. 27. He was 99.
He was born on April 23, 1916, to the late Canio and Teresa-Martino Labriola in Ripacandida Potenza, Italy. He was united in marriage to Addolorata Gabriele at Chiesa Madre and they would remain married for 63 years until her death on Nov. 28, 2002. He served in the Royal Italian Army for eight years in the campaigns of North Africa, the Balkans and the Iberian Peninsula. STAMFORD, Conn. – Michael A. Bernardo, of Stamford, died Friday, Feb. 26. He was 84.
He was born in Millstone Township, New Jersey, on May 9, 1931, to the late Angelo and Marie Zezima Bernardo. He moved to Stamford with his family at a young age, attended Stamford schools and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a licensed barber and proprietor of the Hoyt-Bedford Barber Shop for many years. He later worked in the insurance industry for the John Hancock Insurance Company.

HARRISON, N.Y. – Luigi Solimeo, a longtime resident of Harrison, died on Feb. 27. He was 60.
He is survived by his wife Giovanna, three children, Andrea, Lisa and Paolo, twin brother Saverio and various relatives.
