Pastor James Brown Jr., 69, Bridgeport Resident
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Pastor James Brown, Jr. of Bridgeport, died Friday, Feb. 26. He was 69.
He was a native of South Carolina, born to the late Lila and James Brown. He was married to his wife, Mattie Brown, for 46 years. Together they have six children and six grandchildren.
He was ordained as a deacon where he worked faithfully under the leadership of his late Pastor, Elder Belcher. He was pastor at Bethel Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed his final years working full time in the church after retiring from Sikorsky Aircraft, where he worked for 31 years.

Andrew Friedman, 86, Westport Resident
WESTPORT, Conn. – Westport resident Andrew "Drew" Norman Friedman, Jr. died Saturday, Feb. 27. He was 86.
He was born April 9, 1929, in Mount Vernon, New York. He grew up working at his father's summer camps, Robin Hood and Hiawatha, in New Hampshire. He attended both Westminster Preparatory School and Cornell University. He was well known in downtown Westport. He was also a restaurateur who owned Onion Alley on Main Street and more recently he renovated and re-opened Weston's Cobb's Mill Inn and acquired the Stonehenge Inn in Ridgefield.

Herman Glover Sr., 75, Bridgeport Resident
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Herman William Glover, Sr., of Bridgeport, died Tuesday, Feb. 23. He was 75.
He was born to the late Johnny William Glover and Gennette Goings Glover on Feb. 23, 1941. He attended Stamford Public Schools. In 1961, he married Katie Mae Brown Glover of Williamston, North Carolina. He was an avid pool player and he loved to fish.

Willie Hill Sr., 90, Bridgeport Resident
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Willie L. Hill, Sr., of Bridgeport died Thursday, Feb. 25. He was 90.
He was born to the late Johnny and Pearl (Brinson) Hill Oct. 31, 1925, in Mt. Vernon, Georgia. He was a materials handler with Casco for many years.
He is survived by his sons, Willie Hill, Jr.(Omaira) and Tony Williams; daughters Carolyn (Samuel), Phills and Lydia (Michael) Hinton; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ernestine Benson and Dorothy Coates; niece, Patricia Benson; nephew, Harmon Benson; and a host of other family and friends.

Erika Aanensen, 98, Bridgeport Resident
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Erika Caroline (Volkmann) Aanensen, of Bridgeport, died Tuesday, March 1 at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford. She was 98.
She was born in Germany to the late Karl and Marie Volkmann. She was a retired food supervisor for Bridgeport Hospital and Park City Hospital for almost 25 years, and was a lifetime member of the Germania Schwaben Club.
She is survived by three children, Linda Shlonsky, Roseann Giordanella and Norman Aanensen; 20 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Perina (Gentile) Masanotti, of Fairfield, wife of the late Louis Masanotti, died Monday, Feb. 29 at the Carolton Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center in Fairfield. She was 100.
She was born in Fairfield and was a lifelong resident and a lifelong member of the Assumption Parish in Fairfield.

Czeslawa Wasicki, 92, Bridgeport Resident
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Czeslawa P. Wasicki, of Bridgeport, died Sunday, Feb. 28 in Bridgeport Hospital. She was 92.
Born in Poland, and was employed by the City Trust Company for more than 16 years, and later was a patient at the Carolton Home. She was a communicant at St. Michael's Church in Bridgeport.
Survivors include a son, Henry P. Wasicki of Sandy Hook; and six grandchildren, Thomas, Debbie Cambarer, David Batura, Michele Hobey Shannon Wasicki and Kevin Wasicki.
She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Wasicki, a daughter Christine Batura, and her husband, William.

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Dorene Claire Reale, of Bridgeport, died on Monday, Feb. 29, of cancer. She was 72.
She was born in Norwalk to Anthony and Theresa Reale and worked as a proposal specialist for Benefit Mall in White Plains, N.Y., for 16 years.
She is survived by her father, of Aberdeen, N.C.,her niece Karen (Salvatore) DeSciscio of Chaplin; and nephew Daniel Reale of Plainfield.

James A. Steele, 74, Norwalk Resident
NORWALK, Conn. – James A. Steele, of Norwalk, husband of Isobel Steele, died Saturday, Feb. 20. He was 74.
He was born in Nova Scotia, Canada, to Roland and Amelia Steele and served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He was the owner of Steele’s Automotive in Westport until his retirement in 2001.
