Jocelyn Hartman, 77, Former Stamford Resident
STAMFORD, Conn. – Jocelyn G. "Joy" Hartman, formerly of Stamford, died Sunday, March 6. She was 77.
She was born Sept. 2, 1938, in Stamford, to Chester Warner and Doris Miller Graves. She enjoyed singing soprano at Stamford High School and at the churches she attended. She was a professional member of the past madrigal singers with the Les Chanteurs of Connecticut. She was on the vestry and alter guild of St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church in King, N.C.; a volunteer at King Outreach Ministry, and for several years, a member of the King Senior Center.

John J. Bergin, Jr., 83, Nyack Resident
NYACK, N.Y. – John J. Bergin, Jr., of Nyack, died Tuesday, Feb. 23. He was 82.
He was born on May 2, 1933, in New York City to John and Madeline Bergin.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; five children, John and his wife, Rebecca, Debbie and her husband, Larry, Thomas and his wife, Carla, Madeline and her husband, Tom and Anthony; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; stepchildren Lori and her husband, Lloyd, Sheryl and her husband, Todd, Felix, and Denise and her husband, Tarris.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date at Jackson Hose Co. #3, Nyack.
Leonard Eisen, 86, Poughquag Resident
POUGHQUAG, N.J. – Leonard Eisen, of Poughquag, formerly of Suffern, died Saturday, March 5 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center after a long illness. He was 86.
He was born June 30, 1929, the son of the late Abraham and Fay Eisen (Rabona). He was born and raised in the Bronx. He was a member of the National Guard for 20 years, and worked as a reporter with Jimmy Breslin during the Korean War. He ran a successful advertising agency in Manhattan, married and had two daughters, Cathie of New Mexico, and Nancy of Nyack. Norwalk Artist Sergey Stepanenko Opens New Solo Exhibit
NORWALK, Conn. – Norwalk artist Sergey Stepanenko will open a new solo exhibition, “Retrospective,” from 6-10 p.m. Saturday at SPAG Artists Studio, 25 France St., Norwalk.
The creative biography of artist-painter Stepanenko is a diverse one, both in nature and geography. He graduated from art school in Frunze, Kyrgyzstan.
In addition to producing his own drawings and paintings, he designed stages for television programs and puppet theater and worked as an instructor for a local art school. Later, he attended the Moscow Printing Institute, where he received a master’s degree in book design. …
Anna B. Burkart, 90, Bergenfield Resident
BERGENFIELD, N.J. – Anna B. Burkart (nee Hammett), of Bergenfield, died Sunday, March 6. She was 90.
From 1966-90, she was the crossing guard at East Englewood and South Washington avenues for the Bergenfield Police Department. An active member of the Avenue Reformed Church, she enjoyed making ornaments for the annual Christmas tree for more than 35 years. She participated in the Feeding the Homeless Program and Meals on Wheels. She was a member of the Family Motor Coach Association. She and her husband, Willard, loved traveling in their motor home throughout the United States.

NORTHVALE, N.J. – Charles P. Keshian, of Northvale, died Saturday, March 5. He was 87.
He spent his entire career in the advertising promotions industry, both owning his own business and working as a manufacturer’s representative.
He was the husband of Alice Keshian (Nishanian), and father of Paul Keshian of New York City.
He was pedeceased by his daughter, Brooke; son, Allen; and brother, Andy.
The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday with a funeral service at 2 p.m.

Samuel J. Esposito, 87, Cliffside Park Resident
CLIFFSIDE PARK, N.J. – Samuel J. Esposito, of Cliffside Park, died Saturday, March 5. He was 86.
He was born in Fairview, and lived in Dumont and Cliffside Park. He spent winters in Fort Myers, Fla., and most recently lived in Paramus. He was a U.S. Army veteran (63rd Field Artillery Battalion, gunner and guard patrolman) who served from1946-47, and was given the World War II Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal for Japan. He was a longtime member of the Fort Lee VFW, Post 2342. He was a volunteer firefighter in Dumont. He also worked for the Lever Brothers from 1958-77.
