Josephine Leach, 79, Norwalk Resident
NORWALK, Conn. – Josephine Leach, of Norwalk, died Sunday, March 6 at Cassena Care. She was 79.
She was born on June 6, 1936, in Columbia South Carolina, and had her own house cleaning business for many years.
Friends are invited to greet the family Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at Canaan Institutional Baptist Church, 31 Concord St. Norwalk. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will be private and held at a later date. The Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.

Claire A. Whelan, 92, Washington Township Resident
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. – Claire A. (Curran) Whelan, of Township of Washington, formerly of Lyndhurst, died Sunday, March 6. She was 92.
She was the purchasing agent for the administrator for the Township of Washington for 19 years before she retired in 1989. She was also president of Miriam Gemmel Auxiliary of the Children’s Aid and Adoption Society from 1961-63.
She was the wife of the late Robert G. Whelan; and mother of Robert T. Whelan and his wife, Donnamarie, of Upper Saddle River; and sister of the late Timothy Curran, Helen Smith, Virginia McCallum and Adele Mead.

Mary Jean Staropoli, 83, New Rochelle Resident
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Mary Jean "Jean" Staropoli, of New Rochelle, died Saturday, March 5. She was 83.
She was the daughter of the late Leo and Theresa (D'Onofrio) Phillips; mother of Sondra Jean, Nicholas (Arlene) and Terry Ann Staropoli; and grandmother of Patrick and Devon Staropoli.
Family and friends will gather on Thursday, March 10, from 4-8 p.m. at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home, 767 E. Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck, where a funeral service will be held at 7:15 p.m.

Sammy 'Tex' Young, 58, Eastchester Resident
EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – Sammy G. "Tex" Young, of Eastchester, died Monday, March 7. He was 58.
He was an ironworker for Local 40 with more than 30 years of service in the New York City and surrounding areas.
He was the son of Edna Young and the late Lexie V. Young; father of Timothy Bruce and the late Elizabeth Ann Young; brother of Jane Ann Johnson, Thomas Young and Everett Ray Young; and grandfather of Hunter Andrew and Kayla Elizabeth Bruce.

Susan M. Holder, 52, Pearl River Resident
PEARL RIVER, N.Y. – Susan M. Holder, of Pearl River, formerly of New City, died Sunday, March 6. She was 52.She was the daughter of Katherine and the late Paul W. Holder; sister of Deborah Sheridan and her husband, George, Laura Donnelly and her husband, Fred, Mark and his wife, Valerie, Michael and his wife, Tina, and the late Paul O; and aunt of many nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be celebrated Tuesday, March 15 at 10 a.m. St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, Northvale.
Those who wish may make donations in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Rose Filorimo, 86, New Rochelle Resident
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Rose Filorimo, of New Rochelle, died Saturday, March 5. She was 86.
She was born on July 21, 1929, to Anthony and Josephine Filorimo.
She is survived by her brother, Anthony (Maria) Filorimo.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Connie Spinelli and Grace Filorimo.
