FAIR LAWN, N.J. – John R. Quintano, of Easton, Pa., formerly of Fair Lawn and Mahwah, died Wednesday, March 16 in Bethlehem, Pa. He was 71.
He was born in Jersey City. He received a bachelor’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University and was a director of cash management at Nabisco Brands for 34 years and was employed as director of finance at United States Tobacco from 1997 to 2004. He was a parishioner of St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, Fair Lawn, and very active in Fair Lawn and St. Anne’s parish athletics.

She was born Sept. 4, 1930, in Brooklyn. While attending Brooklyn College, where she graduated in 1952 with an English degree, she met her lifelong friend, Ethel Sloan. NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Martha R. Broadie-Leak, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died Tuesday, March 8. She was 102.
She was born to Charles and Ellen (Harris) Byrd in Winnsboro, N.C., where she began her formal education, and completed it in Baltimore. She was co-founder of Gospel Temple Church of America. NORWALK, Conn. – Rev. James W. Carter, of Norwalk, died Tuesday, March 15. He was 74.
He was born Nov. 7, 1941, in Keyport, New Jersey. As a young man, he was actively involved in civil rights and pastored in several churches, including as associate minister at Shiloh Baptist in Trenton, New Jersey. After a trip to Africa and the Middle East in the mid-1980s, he felt compelled to focus on community and activist ministry. NORWALK, Conn. – Anne E. Roberts, wife of the late Dudley E. Roberts, died Monday, March 7 at Norwalk Hospital. She was 89.
She worked as a legal secretary to the late Judge Walton Clark of Darien and Middlesex School in Darien. She loved life, cooking, baking, gardening, reading a good book, crossword puzzles and traveling, especially to Bermuda.
She is survived by her son, Michael J. Roberts, of Norwalk; a brother, Joe Dichiaro and his wife, Bobbie; and by several nieces and nephews.
