Herbert F. Holzberger, 93, Fairfield Resident
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Herbert F. Holzberger, currently of Fairfield and formerly of Glen Rock, N.J., died Monday, April 4. He was 93.
He was the husband of the late Doris (Pleune) Holzberger.
He was born Jan. 26, 1923, in Paterson, N.J., to the late George and Anna (Wagner) Holzberger. As a captain in the U.S. Army Signal Corps, he served in World War II and the Korean War.

Gregory S. Kroning, 53, New Rochelle Resident
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Gregory S. Kroning, a lifelong resident of New Rochelle, died Tuesday, April 5. He was 53.
He was born Oct. 29, 1962, in New Rochelle to Charles J. and Marilyn (Hocking) Kroning. He was a self-employed financial adviser for many years.
In addition to his mother and father, he is survived by his two daughters, Kelsey and Lindsey Kroning; and his brother, Neil Matthew Kroning.
He was predeceased by his brother, Harold Charles Kroning.

OSSINING, N.Y. – Herbert J. Lipton of Ossining died at his home in the Atria of Ossining on Saturday, March 19. He was 94.
He was born in the Bronx on Nov. 16, 1921, to Isaac and Sarah Lipschitz. He graduated from DeWitt Clinton High School, attended St. John's University, then enlisted in the U.S. Army during World War II He rose to the level of sergeant in the Army Air Forces and was stationed in Panama. After the war, he embarked on a long career in the menswear business, forming his own company with offices in the Empire State Building. He retired after 62 years at the age of 87.

WESTPORT, Conn. – Naiad June Einsel, of Westport, died Sunday, April 3. She was 88.
She was born in Philadelphia on June 6, 1927. Her lifelong love of art began in her father’s grocery store, where she drew on the brown wrapping paper. After attending the High School of Music and Art in New York City, she graduated from Pratt Institute. BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Louis V. Vallach of Bronxville died Tuesday, April 5.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He then went on to have a long career with the New York City Transit Authority.

She was born in Danbury on Jan. 25, 1922, daughter of Charles and Celestine (Barbarita) Valluzzo.
