Thomas Howard Otway, 62, Croton-On-Hudson Resident CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Thomas Howard Otway, of Croton-on-Hudson, died Tuesday, April 5. He was 62. He was born Oct. 14, 1953, to Howard Vincent and Florence Otway in White Plains.  He was professor of mathematics and chair of the department of mathematical sciences at Yeshiva University for more than 25 years. He is survived by his wife, AnneMarie Palagano; children, James Laurence and Kathleen Agnes Otway; and his brother, Lawrence Otway. Arlene Carol Howard, 65, Larchmont Resident LARCHMONT, N.Y. – Arlene Carol Howard, a longtime resident of Larchmont, died Wednesday, April 6. She was 65. She is survived by her husband, Eliot; her daughters, Tanya and Tara (Robert); grandchildren, Madalyn, Robert Jr. and Shelby; and brother, Andrew W. Boraczek. Visiting will take place Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Fox Funeral Home, 2080 Boston Post Road, Larchmont.  A funeral service will take place Saturday at 11 a.m. at St John's Episcopal Church, 4 Fountain Square, Larchmont. Interment will be private.

Bridgeport Native, Tony Award Winner Frankie Michaels Dies At 60 BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Bridgeport native Frankie Michaels, who was a Tony Award winner in 1966 at the age of 11 for his performance in “Mame,” died March 30 in Chittenango, N.Y., reported The New York Times. He was 60. Known in his personal life as Francis Michael Chernesky, he was born in Bridgeport on May 5, 1955. He was the youngest person to win a Tony Award for the role of Patrick Dennis in the Broadway musical, reports the New York Times. He was 92. He was a 55-year resident of Westport.  He grew up in Shreveport, La., and graduated from both Byrd High School and The McCallie School. Richard Gerald Steer, 67, Southport Resident FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Richard Gerald Steer, of Southport, died Tuesday, April 5 after a seven-year battle against cancer. He was 67. He was born Sept. 25, 1948, in Laon, France. He immigrated to the United States in 1955 and had been a longtime resident of Connecticut. He was an engineer at Sikorsky Aircraft for more than 37 years. He was well known for his love of deep-sea fishing, baking, the results of which he shared with family, friends and co-workers, travel and motorcycles.
