Born in the Bronx, he was the son of Frank and Lillian Ford.  He was a highly decorated retired U.S. Army colonel and served with distinction in the military from 1952-94. He was born Nov. 5, 1941, to John and Mildred (Romano) Saviano in Westport, the youngest of five boys. He credited his vocation to the priesthood to his mother’s deep faith, as his father died when he was 3 years old.
