Priscilla Schneeberg, 100, Former Ossining Resident
OSSINING, N.Y. – Priscilla Schneeberg, formerly of Ossining, died Monday, March 7. She was 100.
She was born Oct. 27, 1915, in Montello, Mass., to Lithuanian immigrants, her mother, Elzbieta and father, Jurgis. Along with brothers Alexius, George and Joseph, and sister, Olga, the Rachun family moved to Kent Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – John Klinkowize Jr., of Ridgefield, died Saturday, April 9 after a battle with cancer. He was 78.
He was the husband of the late Jean B. (Gerstenkorn) Klinkowize. He was born March 1, 1938, in Washingtonville, N.Y., the son of the late John and Helen (Solanka) Klinkowize. He graduated from Washingtonville High School and entered the U.S. Air Force after marrying his sweetheart, Jean. After being discharged from the Air Force, he moved to Pelham Manor, N.Y. to begin his family and new career as a commercial display manufacturer.

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – Rita Horan Specht, a 44-year resident of Ridgefield, died Monday, April 11 at Laurel Ridge Health Care Center in Ridgefield. She was 91.
She was born March 1, 1925, in Port Chester. She was a 1947 graduate of the College of New Rochelle with a bachelor’s degree in arts and sciences. Subsequently, she worked for Beardsley Ruml, an economist in New York City, for Teleregister Corp. in Stamford and as an executive secretary at Boehringer Ingelheim in Ridgefield.

NORWALK, Conn. – Susan G. Komen® Southern New England has selected Norwalk resident Erin Lavery, 33, as the campaign model for the 2016 Race for the Cure® Fairfield County, taking place Saturday, May 7 in Westport’s Sherwood Island State Park.

ARMONK, N.Y. – Richard H. Blackmar, of Armonk, died Sunday, April 10 at his home of 54 years as a result of complications from a stroke suffered in 2013. He was 88.
He was born July 13, 1927, in Dobbs Ferry, to Arthur and Mathilda Blackmar and grew up in Hastings-on-Hudson. Upon graduating from Hastings High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as a photographer until the end of World War II.
