Anthony J. Peluso, 84, Yonkers Resident YONKERS, N.Y. – Anthony J. Peluso Jr., a longtime resident of Yonkers, died Monday, May 23 following a brief illness. He was 84. He was born Nov. 26, 1931, to Anthony and Catherine ( McIntyre) Peluso. He retired from CIT in Manhattan in 1987 as a senior vice president. He then went on to pursue a career reflective of his lifelong passion for marine art. He was an author, appraiser, guest curator, lecturer and marine art historian. Born and raised in Bridgeport, he was just turning 16 when he enlisted in U.S. Navy during World War II, serving as a coxswain in a mobile amphibious unit assigned to the Pacific campaign leaving Australia and island hopping from Buna New Guinea to his final duty with the liberation of the Philippines. Eureka Water Tank In Bethel Nears Completion BETHEL, Conn. — A construction crane added the final dome panel on the nearly completed Eureka water tank for Bethel on Monday. The tank is scheduled to be ready to be filled for pressure testing by mid-July, and is expected to deliver water to Bethel in the fall.  It is located on Long Ridge Road off Reservoir Road in Danbury on property the town of Bethel has owned since the 1870s.
