WALDWICK, N.J. – Marie F. (Duncan) Edwards, of Waldwick, died Saturday, June 4. She was 97.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she lived in Sloatsburg, N.Y. and Paramus before settling in Waldwick in 1953. She was an administrator for Social Security in offices throughout Bergen County. She was a parishioner of St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church in HoHoKus, a member of Parents without Partners in Oakland and the Tapp Hatters in Midland Park.

The son of Edward John and Josephine Karlsen Kerin, he was born Oct. 6, 1938, in Hartford, Conn..
Struggling to read, his father taught him to love words and literature. He won a scholarship to Williston Academy. He attended Colgate and then joined the U.S. Army, serving for six years and reaching the rank of lieutenant, reinforcing his belief in loyalty, honor and hard work. POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Thomas O. Dodge Jr., formerly of Poughkeepsie, died Thursday, June 2.
Born May 24, 1935, in Johnson City, he was the son of the late Thomas O. and Vivian (Hilligas) Dodge. He moved to Poughkeepsie in 1974, where he resided until 1995. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserves for 12 years. He worked in various IBM locations during his 30-year career. He retired in 1993.

Born and raised in New York City, she resided in Bergenfield for 50 years. A parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Bergenfield, she was a member of the Social Concerns Committee and the Golden Age Club. HAWTHORNE, N.J. – Robert Edward Whitford Jr., of Lake Stockholm, died Monday, May 31. He was 74.
Born in Paterson and raised in Fair Lawn, he resided in Hawthorne for 20 years before moving to Lake Stockholm 20 years ago. He served with the U.S. Navy from 1961-63. He enjoyed the outdoors and freshwater fishing. He will be remembered for his ability to fix anything. Prior to retiring, he was employed as a superintendent with the maintenance department of Northern Highlands Regional High School in Allendale for 21 years.
