Ives Concert Park Presents Juried Fine Arts, Crafts Show In Danbury
DANBURY, Conn. – The nonprofit Friends of the Ives will present the first Art at Ives Juried Fine Art & Crafts Show on Saturday and Sunday at Ives Concert Park on the Western Connecticut State University westside campus in Danbury.
The two-day event will highlight more than 75 artists from across the nation with a variety of high-quality original works and a diverse scope of art forms representing every major category: ceramics, fiber, drawing, painting, digital art, photography, glass, metal work, mixed media, sculpture, wearable art, jewelry and wood.

Joseph Howells, 86, Longtime Brookfield Resident
BROOKFIELD, Conn. – Joseph A Howells, of Brookfield, died Wednesday, June 1. He was 86.
He was a longtime resident of Brookfield, and was the husband of the late Rita C. Howells for 59 years.
Born June 30, 1929, in South Philadelphia, he was an electrical engineer. He was a graduate of Drexel University, where he obtained both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering, physics and biomedical engineering. He later obtained his doctorate from California Coast University in mathematical modeling and microprocessor programming.

Ena Marie Rodriguez, 91, Former Peekskill Resident
PEEKSKILL, N.Y. – Ena Marie Rodriguez, an area resident for more than 27 years and formerly of Peekskill, died Saturday, June 4 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was 91.
Born July 25, 1924, in Port of Spain, British West Indies, she was the daughter of Vicente Perez and Marie Nicol. She graduated from the Royal Victoria Institute in Port of Spain. During World War II, she worked as a secretary at the British Naval Base in Port of Spain and then with the U.S. Navy there. Following the war, she worked for the U.S. Army.
