POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Rosa Brooks, of Poughkeepsie, died Friday, April 22. She was 65.
Born June 9, 1950, in Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua, she was the daughter of the late Hedley Brooks and Lola Garcia. She received her nursing degree in Nicaragua. She was employed by the Hyde Park Nursing Home for many years. She was a member of the Trinity Temple Seventh Day Adventist Church in Poughkeepsie. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting and spending time with her family and friends.

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Jean Selinger Wall, formerly of Poughkeepsie, died Wednesday, April 20. She was 88.
She was born in Poland and remained in Europe until after World War II, when she and and her husband, Carl, moved to Hartford, Conn. She and her husband were Holocaust survivors who sought to make a new life in America and raise their children in freedom. The family moved to Poughkeepsie, where they lived for 47 years and where they found a welcoming home of new friends who became like family. She missed them greatly after her move to Peabody, Mass. in 2011.

HYDE PARK, N.Y. – Jaime Rodriguez-Tellez, M.D., of Hyde Park, died Thursday, April 21. He was 85.
Born Jan. 20, 1931, in Bogota, Colombia, he was a son of Amadeo and Isabel Rodriguez-Tellez and was the youngest of five children. With his father, he left Colombia for Madrid, Spain in 1952, where he married his wife, Conchita Rodriguez-Otero, in 1957. The year after his marriage, he earned his medical license from the University of Madrid and later a doctorate in medical sciences in 1962.

STAMFORD, Conn. – Rosario R. D’Elia, of Stamford, died Saturday, April 23 at Stamford Hospital. He was 79.
He was born Dec. 23, 1936, in San Mango Sul Calore, Italy, to the late Giuseppe and Generosa D’Elia. He immigrated to the United States in 1962, just in time for the birth of his first child. He loved spending time with his family and making everyone laugh. He operated his own landscaping business and worked until the very end.

Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, to Frank A. and Helen (Maciecka) Poklemba, she spent most of her young life in Fairfield before raising her own family in Monroe, and later settling in Stratford over 10 years ago. POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – James Cusumano of Poughkeepsie died Thursday, April 21, due to congestive heart failure at the Lutheran Care Center. He was 100.
He was born Aug. 22, 1915, in New York City. He was married in 1946 to Lillian Wasielewski. They had a daughter, Barbara, in 1947, and son, James, in 1950.
