Carmella Maiorana, 95, Cliffside Park Resident CLIFFSIDE PARK, N.J. – Carmella Maiorana, of Cliffside Park, died Tuesday, Jan. 12. She was 95. She was born Nov. 9, 1920, in West New York, and was a homemaker. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Maiorana. She was predeceased by three sisters, Grace Sutera, Madeline Curci and Ann Davino. Visitation is on Friday from 2-8 p.m. at A.K. Macagna Funeral Home, 495 Anderson Ave., Cliffside Park. Dimitrios Koukoulogiannis, 84, Stamford Resident STAMFORD, Conn. – Dimitrios "Taki" Koukoulogiannis, of Stamford, brother, uncle and friend, died Friday, Jan. 8. He was 84. He was born in Litochoro, Greece, on May 17, 1931, and was the oldest of five children born to the late Perikles and Stamatia Koukoulogiannis. He was a merchant marine in Greece for more than 30 years before he moved to Stamford in 1973. He worked at Pitney Bowes as a machinist until he retired in 1995. CEO Al Anstey cited an unsustainable business model amid U.S. media economic problems. Last month, the network aired a report that linked Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning to Human Growth Hormone. Two Charged With Drug Possession In Yorktown YORKTOWN, N.Y. – Two Mahopac men were arrested for drug possession in Yorktown on Friday, reports the Yorktown Police Department. Stephen Blumenstetter, 29, and Chad E. Young, 31, were pulled over on Route 6 at around 8:10 p.m. after being alerted to possible drug activity. It is alleged that Young failed to maintain a lane and was in possession of 37 envelopes of heroin residue and that Blumenstetter possessed 15.2 grams of heroin, according to police. Frances Paulsen, 94, Stamford Resident STAMFORD, Conn. – Frances Borgia Paulsen, a longtime Stamford resident, died Friday, Jan. 8. She worked as an registered nurse with St. Joseph's Hospital and Eagle Towers in Stamford. She grew up on a farm in Springfield, Ky., and was the middle child of 11.  She enjoyed crafts, decorating, music and walking. Her proudest times were when she traveled overseas to Saudi Arabia where she worked as a nurse and met her husband.
