NYACK, N.Y. – Thomas P. Bailey, Sr., of Nyack, died Saturday, June 18, in Fort Myers, Florida. He was 99.
He was born in 1917 in Wilmington, Del., ,to Nathan Bailey and Anita Lynch Bailey. He married Joyce Wentz in 1944. He was educated in the Wilmington Public Schools and later attended Nyack College, Taylor University, Columbia University and Union Theological Seminary. He served in Patton’s Third Army, 65th Division, iduring WWII.
From 1951-53, he served in occupied Germany. He also served during the Korean War.

ENGLEWOOD, N.J. – William Oscar Moon, of Englewood, died Saturday, June 18. He was 91.
He was born to the late Matthew Moon and Leola Akridge Moon Burke in Shelby, N.C. He grew up in Englewood and attended Englewood Public Schools until he received the call to serve the U.S. in the Navy (1943-46). He traveled extensively during his tour. His favorite place being Hawaii.

GARFIELD, N.J. – Elaine Mittendorf, a lifelong resident of Garfield, died Sunday, June 19. She was 68.
She worked in the pathology department at Hackensack University Medical Center for many years before retiring
She was a parishioner of Most Holy Name Church in Garfield, and a member of AARP.
She was the sister of Eileen Lenning, and her husband, Ed.
She was predeceased by her parents, William F. and Eva Mittendorf.

NEW MILFORD, N.J. – Patrick O’Donoghue, a resident of New Milford for 53 years, died Monday, June 20. He was 81.
Born in Dublin, Ireland, he immigrated to Canada and then to the U.S.
He was an avid English sports car enthusiast as well as a World War II historian.

RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J. – The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra will perform a free concert at 8 p.m. Thursday at Overpeck County Park in Bergen County.

NYACK, N.Y. – Mary Ellen Vitulli (Kennedy), of Nyack, died Saturday, June 18 after a short illness. She was 81.
She was born on Aug. 2, 1935. She was a foster and adoptive parent to many children she welcomed and cared for in her home. She was a member of the Pearl River Ladies Auxiliary.
