Popular Pretzel Chain's New Long Island Shop Draws Long Lines
Philly Pretzel Factory's new shop in Smithtown, which opened this month, is drawing long lines.
The chain sells Philadelphia-style soft pretzels and dips, pretzel dogs, pretzel cheesesteaks, and pretzel pepperoni melts among specialties, along with dips, and drinks.
Next month a new product, cheesesteak filled rivets or "little bites" will be added next month, a franchise spokesperson said.
The eatery's pretzels are shaped in figure eight, not heart-shaped. The dought is made of a proprietary blend of flour that is protein-rich, according to the company.

Michael Cristiano, 41, who had last been heard from on Thursday, Aug. 22 at 7:45 p.m., has been located, according to Suffolk County Police.

Woman, 48, Faces DUI Charge After Swerving Over Double-Yellow Line In Greenwich, Police Say
A 48-year-old woman was arrested drunk driving after swerving her car, according to Greenwich Police.
Officers reportedly noticed a car on Thursday, Aug. 15 swerve over the double yellow line on Round Hill Road, police said.
During the traffic stop, the odor of alcoholic beverage was detected from the car, according to police.
After questioning the driver, Claire Haft, of Greenwich, it was reportedly determined she had previously consumed alcoholic beverages, said Greenwich Police.

Popular Owner Of Huntington Pizzeria Dies
Modesto DiRaimo who was the popular owner of DiRaimo Pizzeria in Huntington died Friday, Aug. 16, at age 83.
DiRaimo of Woodbury owned the restaurant for 41 years, according to his obituary.
He was born on Oct. 26, 1935.
He was the husband of the late Elana and father of Joseph(Christine), Maryellen(Joseph) and Steven(Elizabeth).
He was the grandfather of Victoria, Joseph, Modesto, Stefano, Elena, and Lucia; and brother of Annibale, Elena, Rosa, and the late Alba.
Modesto is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass was held Tuesday, Aug. 20.

An arborist and "gifted" sportsman, lifelong New Milford resident, Joshua David Westlake, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Aug. 14, at age 38.
Westlake died at his home in New Haven. He was born in New Milford on June 7, 1981. He graduated from New Milford High School in 2000. He began his lifelong career as an arborist while working with and learning from his dad at Candlewood Tree Care Co. in 1998.
Westlake was the son of Warren and Linda Westlake, brother of Liz Larson and Emily Westlake, and uncle of Mike, Joey, Timmy, and Emma Larson of New Milford.
