Man Charged With Bogus Chester County Assistance Office Bomb Threat Police have charged a man with making a bogus bomb threat against the Chester County Assistance Office. Caln Township police officers arrived just before 4 p.m. on Monday, April 25 at the office on James Buchanan Drive in Thorndale and evacuated all employees and clients, they said. One Shot In Reading, Police Say One person was shot Thursday, April 28 in Reading, authorities said. An off-duty police officer witnessed the shooting, which broke out between Marion Street and Spring Street around 6:35 p.m., Reading Police Chief Richard Tornielli said in a Friday morning press release. Federal Investigation Focuses On Police Chief In PA: Report A police chief in Bucks County has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation into the performance of his duties, 6abc reports. Upper Macungie police and the Lehigh County Municipal Emergency Response Team were called to the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Allentown West on Tilghman Street in Allentown on a report of a man in "mental distress," around 10:40 a.m., they said.
