Ex-Philly Corrections Officer Straw Purchased, Resold Firearms On Social Media, DA Says A former Philadelphia corrections officer was arrested for straw purchasing and illegally reselling five firearms — two of which have been recovered by police, authorities said. Thief Poses As Walmart Employee, Steals VR Headset In MontCo: Police Police in Montgomery County are looking for a man who they say posed as a Walmart employee and stole merchandise on Friday, March 4. The man in the Walmart vest persuaded an associate to hand over the keys to the electronics case, from which he stole an Oculus VR headset around 10 a.m. at the store on Grove Blair Mill Road in Willow Grove, Upper Moreland police said. Man Shot, Killed In Newark, Police Say A 28-year-old man was shot and killed in Newark on Tuesday, March 8, authorities said. Sharique J. Ray was shot on Huntingdon Terrance, said Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, and Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara. Ray, of Newark, was pronounced dead at 8:52 pm., authorities said. No arrests have been made. Two PA State Police Troopers Hurt In Crash Hazardous road conditions are to blame for the crash that injured two Pennsylvania state police troopers Wednesday, March 9 in Chester County, authorities said. The troopers were responding to a possible burglary in progress when they lost control of their patrol vehicle and slid off a slick road near the intersection of Baltimore Pike and University Road in Lower Oxford around 9:15 a.m., according to Trooper Kevin Kochka and CBS3.
