Annual Passaic County Fair Offers Food, Summer Fun WOODLAND PARK, N.J. – Passaic County will host its annual County Fair from Thursday, Aug. 18 through Sunday, Aug. 21 on Garret Mountain Reservation in Woodland Park. The fair will be open from 6-11 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 3-11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Rides, fireworks, games, live music, a beer/wine garden, food, a car show, a chess tournament, health screenings and more will be available. Activists Celebrate Highlands Act With Ringwood Pool Party RINGWOOD, N.J. – The New Jersey Sierra Club is hosting a Highlands anniversary picnic and hike starting at 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 14 at the Highlands Natural Pool. Yonkers Swears In 12 New Probationary Police Officers YONKERS, N.Y. – The Yonkers Police Department will conduct a hiring ceremony for 12 new probationary police officers on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Riverfront Library. The new officers will take the oath of office and will be presented with their shields. The Yonkers Police Honor Guard will begin the ceremony. Hackensack Presents Free Production Of 'Edward III' Tonight HACKENSACK, N.J. – The City of Hackensack Summer of Entertainment will present a free performance of Shakespeare in the Park: “Edward III” from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Wednesday at the New Atlantic Street Park in Hackensack. “Edward III” tells the story of the king who claimed rightful ownership to the French throne as the son of Isabel, the only surviving child of the French King Philip IV; an uprising of Scots in England; and a war in France to claim the throne. North Salem's Friends Of Karen Gets Ready For Back To School NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – It still may be summer, but at Friends of Karen, a nonprofit that helps children battling cancer and their families, it’s back-to-school time.
