A 37-year-old teacher and mother of four died while competing in the swimming portion of a triathlon at a North Jersey lake over the weekend, Daily Voice has learned. The incident involving 37-year-old Hannah Merlucci, of Kinnelon, happened on the morning of Saturday, July 19 at Fayson Lakes, according to Meghan Kbab, a spokeswoman for the Morris County Prosecutor's Office. A man was found dead inside his home following a tense standoff with police in Sussex County over the weekend, officials said. Authorities have identified the retired Hudson Valley police officer charged with murder after allegedly shooting his roommate on Monday, July 21. Edison Irizarry, age 52, of Beacon, called 911 and told dispatchers that he had shot his roommate at a home on Rombout Avenue in Beacon just after 9 p.m., New York State Police said in an update on Tuesday afternoon, July 22.
