Hamilton Motorcyclist Killed In Crash: Police A 23-year-old Hamilton man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Wednesday, April 9, authorities said. At 2:33 p.m., Casey Navarro was riding a 2014 Honda CBR northbound in the right lane on Quakerbridge Road, Hamilton police said. Navarro impacted the rear driver’s side corner of a Mercedes and was ejected from his motorcycle, coming to a rest within the interior northbound lane of Quakerbridge Road, police said. Navarro was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center via ambulance where he was pronounced dead, police said. The crash remains under investigation, police said.

Howell Man Who Sexually Assaulted 12-Year-Old Learns Fate: Prosecutor A 54-year-old Howell man was recently sentenced to 41.5 years in state prison for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old, authorities said. John Cruz was convicted last fall of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child and stalking following a bench trial, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said. Law Enforcement Conducts Operation Near Fairfield School: Police A law enforcement operation was conducted in Fairfield on Wednesday, April 9, authorities said. Fairfield police declined to identify the agency conducting the operation on Knoll Road, but said the agency did not request the assistance of their department. Dover Man Found Dead In Rockaway River ID'd: Prosecutor A 46-year-old Dover man was found dead in the Rockaway River on Tuesday, April 8, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said. At 7:30 p.m., Dover police and the Morris County Prosecutor's Office responded to 338 E. Blackwell St. on a report of a body found in the Rockaway River, authorities said. The deceased was identified as Antonio Omar Hernandez Santos, authorities said. The cause of death remains pending but is not suspected to be criminal, authorities said. The investigation is ongoing, authorities said.

Support Swells For Sayreville Family Who Lost Everything In Fire The Hanna family lost their Sayreville home and everything inside following a house fire on Sunday, April 6. While the family was escape, their dog, Tofu Raphael, died and Martina's supplies and paintings were lost in the fire. A fundraiser has been set up to support the family. Smoke Fills Mountain Villa School Due To Faulty HVAC: Allamuchy FD Students were evacuated from the Mountain Villa School on Tuesday, April 8 after smoke filled the building, authorities said. Firefighters responded to the school on a report of a smoke condition, the Allamuchy Fire Department said. HVAC work on the roof led to a burnt motor, causing smoke to enter the building, firefighters said. Crews checked and cleared the HVAC units as well as the interior of the building with negative findings, firefighters said. Crews determined that the building was clear and safe for students to reenter, firefighters said.

Man Struck By Vehicle Remains Unidentified: Glassboro PD An unidentified man was hit by a vehicle on Tuesday, April 8 in Glassboro, authorities said. $1.5 Million Theft: Elizabeth Man Learns Fate, Prosecutor Says A 25-year-old Elizabeth man was sentenced to four years in prison on Friday, April 4 after he pleaded guilty to stealing more than $1.5 million from a senior citizen, authorities said.
