Woman Wins $1M New York Lottery Scratch-Off Prize A woman claimed a $1 million lottery prize from a ticket purchased at a Long Island store. Deborah Fletcher, a resident of Flint, Texas, won the prize from New York Lottery’s "$1,000,000 Bonus Word Cashword" scratch-off game, NY Lottery announced on Thursday, Dec. 15. Fletcher received her prize as a single, lump sum payment of $651,000 after required withholdings, the lottery said. NY Lottery said the winning ticket was purchased at Bar-Jay Cards, which is located at 3 Northwest Drive Suite 10 in Farmingdale.

Man Wanted For Stealing $25K In Jewelry From Middle Island Walmart, Police Say A man is wanted for allegedly stealing more than $25,000 worth of jewelry from Walmart on Long Island. The man stole the jewelry from a locked case at the Middle Island store, located at 750 Middle Country Road, at about 8:20 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, Suffolk County Crime Stoppers reported on Thursday, Dec. 15. Child From CT Dies Of Flu In State's First Pediatric Fatality Of Season Health officials confirmed that a child from Connecticut has died of influenza. The child, a resident of New Haven County, died in December in what is the first pediatric influenza death in the state this flu season, the Connecticut Department of Public Health said. Driver Fatally Strikes Melville Man In Hit-Run Ronkonkoma Crash, Police Say A driver who fatally struck a 61-year-old man on the Long Island Expressway remains at large, police said. The crash happened in Ronkonkoma at about 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 5, Suffolk County Crime Stoppers reported on Thursday, Dec. 15. Authorities said Robert Twiford parked his vehicle on the off-ramp of the eastbound LIE at Exit 60 and got out of the vehicle. Man Wanted For Attacking Victim With Metal Pipe In Huntington Station, Authorities Say Authorities asked the public for help locating a man who is wanted for attacking another man with a metal pipe on Long Island. New Canaan Man Charged With Driving Impaired After Report Of Erratic Driver, Police Say A 30-year-old man is accused of driving while impaired after police received a report of an erratic driver in Fairfield County. Registered Offender From Coram Found Guilty Of Sexually Abusing Child While Out On Parole A Long Island man who is a registered sex offender was found guilty of sexually abusing a child while he was out on parole. Greenwich Man Charged With Child Porn Offenses, Including Possessing Images With Infants A Fairfield County man is facing charges after investigators found that his laptop contained about 1,000 images depicting the sexual abuse of children, including infants. Police Renew Call For Information In Coram Hit-Run Crash That Killed 13-Year-Old Boy Police are offering thousands of dollars for information that leads to the arrest of a driver who fatally struck a 13-year-old boy and injured his sister on Long Island earlier this year. Suspect Wanted For Stealing Packages From Front Porch In Darien With the holiday season in full swing, it's also a big time for delivery thefts. Police in Fairfield County received a report of an individual stealing packages off of a resident's front porch.
